Markers in light grey are unfiltered hourly data, the thick black line are the monthly means. The thin black lines show the temperature and salinity at 50m of the nearest point of the WOA. Dark grey crosses are the mean values from CTD casts in the region 78.7-79.2°N and ±1° of longitude around the mooring. The figure of the salinity at F14 also shows the sea ice cover (from SSMI data [Cavalieri et al.(2005)]) in the region 15°W-0°E, 79°N-8°2N as dashed line, scaled so that 0-100% cover corresponds to 34.5-35.5 in salinity. The 1999 anomaly is marked with arrows.
